Job summary

Family Dollar in Lebanon, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, supervise associates, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards are followed.

The role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a focus on providing an engaging, safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering and processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and store procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
