Job summary

Family Dollar in Carlisle, Pennsylvania is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, supervise team members, and deliver excellent customer service. You will assist with merchandising, opening and closing duties, inventory, payroll records and scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
