Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with daily activities, merchandise transfers, and maintaining promotional displays while ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication and leadership in a fast-paced retail setting, with duties including opening/closing, training, and adherence to company policies. Part-time status with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, receipts).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and waste areas.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
