Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Rocky Mount, NC location to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help manage daily store activities, assist customers, organize merchandise, and train associates while maintaining safety and company standards.

This role requires strong communication, physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a team-focused approach in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention tasks.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms and floors.
