Job summary

Family Dollar in Littleton, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and uphold store standards while ensuring safety and policy compliance. The role involves training staff and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and supporting payroll and scheduling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, and waste managed.
