Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. in Palatine, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager who will drive store performance and lead a diverse team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will focus on sales, operations, and loss prevention while coaching Associates to grow professionally.

You will recruit, train, and mentor staff, implement company initiatives, and optimize store layout and processes for efficiency. This is a fast-paced, inclusive environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience as an Assistant or Store Manager.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and empower a large team.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to influence and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by supporting sales results, managing expenses, and overseeing key operations including merchandising, backroom, frontline, cash office, customer service, markdowns, scheduling, shipping, and receiving, with a focus on minimizing shrink and damages.
• Attract, recruit, and develop top talent by providing comprehensive training and ongoing development for Associates, serving as a mentor and role model.
• Communicate and implement action plans for projects, targets, company initiatives, and store changes; provide input on succession planning.
