Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will assist with opening and closing procedures, merchandise handling, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming store for customers and teammates alike.

This role emphasizes coaching, compliance with company policies, and delivering exceptional service to our diverse customer base.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and manual dexterity.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures for store-front.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (scheduling, payroll, cash deposits/receipts).
• Maintain store areas to company standards; ensure loss prevention.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; promote a positive work environment.
• Keep the store clean, stocked, and presentable at all times.
