Job summary

Family Dollar in Ardmore, OK is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure promotional displays remain effective.

The role requires lifting up to 55 lbs, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. This position also involves processing directives, payroll & scheduling tasks, and loss prevention duties

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and interpret directives is required.
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable.
