Job summary

Family Dollar in Utah seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, merchandise organization, and employee supervision to ensure smooth service and a welcoming shopping environment.

The role calls for a high school diploma (or equivalent) and strong communication skills. Expect a part-time schedule with duties spanning opening/closing, loss prevention, and daily store maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Experience managing stores in retail, grocery, or drug environments preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform active, physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merch, and payroll/scheduling records.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
