Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, ensure excellent customer service, and support team development. This role blends hands-on management with coaching for store associates.

You will assist with merchandising, scheduling, inventory, and safety compliance while maintaining a welcoming, efficient store environment. The position is part-time at our Bacliff, TX location, with opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and walk/stand frequently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to train and develop staff.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process directives and maintain promotional displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked store areas to company standards.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing staff.
• Ensure a safe, welcoming environment for customers and associates.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies.
