Job summary

Family Dollar in Texas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver friendly customer service, and develop the store team.

You will assist with merchandise flow, openings and closings, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and keeping a clean, safe, well-organized store in line with company standards. This role requires reliable, proactive leadership in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and payroll/scheduling records.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and ensure policy compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restocking facilities, and waste management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
