Job summary

Family Dollar in Wilmer, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support day-to-day store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help organize merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom and sales floor, and assist in opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping/mopping, taking out trash, and keeping areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
