Job summary

Dollar Tree in Maplewood, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will supervise openings and closings, merchandise organization, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a friendly, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous store management experience in retail or grocery preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, tidy, and presentable; manage bathrooms, floors, trash, and restocking.
