Job summary

Total Wine & More in Ann Arbor, MI seeks an Assistant Store Manager to drive sales, lead the team, and manage day-to-day operations. You will recruit, train, and motivate staff, oversee payroll and inventory, and maintain a compliant store environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

You must have 1–3 years in retail leadership, familiarity with POS and inventory software, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. A 21+ age requirement is implied by alcohol retail.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of work experience, 2+ years of proven managerial or supervisory role in a retail setting.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs).
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team, including ongoing development to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
• Support day-to-day operations: payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example and resolving issues.
• Maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives.
• Ensure adherence to laws and regulations related to alcohol sales; maintain a safe, compliant environment.
