Carter’s in New York is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to lead a team, deliver exceptional service, and foster an inclusive, high-performance retail environment. You’ll guide staff, train new hires, and ensure excellent customer experiences across all channels.

The role emphasizes coaching, KPI-driven leadership, and ongoing development within Carter’s family of brands in a fast-paced store setting.

Qualifications

1 year of retail or related management experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Availability for days, nights, weekends and holidays with at least two closing shifts per week.

Responsibilities

Execute workforce management to keep a customer-focused sales floor.
Welcome customers and explain product styles, features, and benefits.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment for staff and customers.
Model service standards and omnichannel experience; coach others to success.
Analyze business and drive KPIs with the team to improve results.
Build customer loyalty through company programs including credit.
Assist Store Manager with recruiting, training, and development of staff.
Recognize and address exceptional performance; redirect when needed.
Plan, track, and report task completion and financial results using company tools.
Collaborate with Store Manager on merchandising standards and promotions.
Reduce loss via customer service and operational controls.
