Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Los Banos, CA to support store operations, customer service, and staff development. The role involves assisting with daily activities, merchandising, and payroll/ Scheduling duties while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to company policies.

The position is part-time and requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a safe, friendly store atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform repetitive lifting; frequent standing and walking.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines; ensure staff comply.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash management.
• Other duties as assigned.
