Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Tulare, CA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development at our location. The role involves helping with merchandise flow, opening/closing tasks, and ensuring a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.

You will assist the Store Manager in supervising and training associates, maintaining store standards, and handling policies and procedures while contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing, and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, and waste management.
