Family Dollar in Summerville, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include opening/closing, handling directives, organizing merchandise, and supporting loss prevention. You will work in a fast-paced, family-friendly setting with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred/required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform routine physical duties (walking, standing, stooping, etc.).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and floor as needed; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain store areas to company standards, protect assets, and ensure safety policies are followed.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable (bathrooms, floors, trash, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
