Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Franklin Park, NJ to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise placement, openings/closings, and adherence to company policies while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and prior retail leadership experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and related store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned*.
