Job summary

Dollar Tree in Pennsauken, NJ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise handling, and ensuring a clean, well-stocked store environment while upholding company policies.

The role requires strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with prior retail or grocery management experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefront effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean store and secure assets including cash.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure a respectful environment.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, restocking bathrooms and maintaining neat, presentable areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
