Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and ensure promotional displays are effective.

You will help with payroll, scheduling, records, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, well-stocked store. This role requires strong communication and a collaborative, energetic approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform various physical tasks as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, keeping records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional customer interactions.
