Job summary

Family Dollar in Lenoir, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development, ensuring daily tasks run smoothly and safety standards are met.

You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, scheduling, and payroll-related tasks, supervise and train store associates, handle customer inquiries, and maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor in alignment with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor as needed and ensure the seasonal areas of the store are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed and handle payroll/scheduling tasks.
• Maintain store areas, including floors and stockroom, to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets and assist in loss prevention.
