Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Paoli, Indiana. This role supports store operations, helps customers, and develops store associates while maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and implementing company policies.

The position involves opening/closing procedures, merchandise transfer, payroll/scheduling tasks, and loss prevention efforts in a fast-paced retail setting. A high school diploma is preferred, with prior store management experience desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts; assist with loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure all assets.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
