Job summary

Family Dollar in Houston, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, opening and closing procedures, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, welcoming environment.

You will help supervise and train Store Associates, coordinate payroll and scheduling, and maintain shelves and stockrooms to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions/concerns
• Help organize merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect store assets including cash
• Adhere to policies including safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
