Job summary

Family Dollar in Emory, Texas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, scheduling, and loss prevention while upholding company standards and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Core duties include opening/closing, enforcing policies, training Store Associates, and maintaining a well-organized store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a high-energy team.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise between delivery, stockroom, and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain store records including payroll and scheduling.
• Maintain store areas to company standards and protect assets including cash.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; ensure a safe, respectful environment.
• Ensure cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and stockroom; follow safety policies.
