Job summary

Caleres in Bend, OR is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead the team in delivering the best shoe store experience for families through outstanding customer engagement. You will act as the store leader when the Store Manager is away, motivate staff to meet sales targets, and uphold our Famous Feeling across the brand.

You’ll ensure daily retail operations run smoothly, support hiring and training, and foster an inclusive culture where associates grow and customers feel valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of sales experience, retail preferred.
• Experience in interviewing, hiring and training staff.
• Ability to lead, motivate and communicate with store associates at all levels.
• Demonstrates coaching, development and operational task execution.
• Strong problem solving, decision making and basic financial/quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates to build customer relationships and deliver flawless customer experiences.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to interview and hire passionate team members.
• Manage daily retail operations including pricing, shipping, and inventory.
• Drive sales and apply insights to improve location performance.
• Support a culture of inclusion and a positive, proactive work environment.
• Act as the Store Manager's right hand and ensure policy compliance.
