Job summary

Theisen's Home Farm Auto in Charles City, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining store appearance, and driving sales and profits.

You will train and supervise associates, assist with scheduling and hiring, oversee daily operations, and ensure safety and compliance while building community involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business preferred
• Minimum 2 years of retail or managerial experience
• Satisfactory completion of National Retail Hardware Association test within three months of starting
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and associates throughout the store
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and appearance of the store
• Perform tasks including forklift operation, load outs, tires and cash register
• Walk the store daily to ensure standards and assign duties
• Improve areas not meeting standards and follow priorities
• Observe customer needs through merchandising and stock levels
• Assist in merchandising efforts such as endcaps and displays
• Provide training for associates and supervise store personnel
• Assist with staffing, hiring procedures, and discipline
• Learn manager responsibilities including operations and scheduling
• Oversee inventory and deposits when manager is absent
• Open/close the store and perform administrative duties
• Engage with the community and non-profit organizations
• Other duties as requested
