Job summary

Carter's, Inc. in Merced, CA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager who will be the first face of our brand for growing families.

You will lead by example in delivering exceptional service, managing a welcoming and inclusive environment, and coaching the team on product knowledge and store standards. You’ll partner with the Store Manager to execute scheduling, merchandising plans, and KPI-driven initiatives while supporting recruitment, training, and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of retail or related management experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Execute workforce management to ensure a genuine customer focus on the sales floor.
• Welcome customers with a warm greeting and provide assistance with product styles, features and benefits.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for employees and customers.
• Model service standards and omnichannel experience while coaching others to success.
• Analyze the business and drive KPIs with the team.
• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and development of store team.
• Plan, track, analyze, and report completion of tasks and financial results using company tools.
• Partner with Store Manager to plan merchandising standards, promotions, markdowns, and product placement.
• Reduce loss through consistent customer service, education, and operational controls.
