Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, enhance customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with duties from merchandising to opening and closing procedures, ensuring shelves are stocked and displays are appealing.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (walking, standing, bending, climbing, etc.).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas to company standards and protect assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines; ensure staff follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and stocked, including bathrooms, floors, and restocking.
• Other duties as assigned.
