Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, support customers, organize merchandise, and help with payroll and schedules.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills. You will help supervise staff, maintain clean and safe store conditions, and ensure policies are followed while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from truck to stockroom and sales floor, maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for efficiency.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized in line with company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
