Job summary

Foot Locker in Gainesville, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (ASM) to energize the sales floor, coach the team, and ensure a seamless customer experience. You will partner with the Store Manager to drive sales results, model our “Always on, Never no” mindset, and own daily store execution.

You’ll lead with ownership, manage opening/closing duties, coach staff, schedule coverage, and protect customers and product by following safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a leadership or key holding role.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and engage a diverse team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, self motivated, and ready to take ownership.
• Basic understanding of retail KPIs and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor with energy and solution-focused interactions.
• Coach the team to deliver great service, share product knowledge, and keep customers excited.
• Support sales goals by staying engaged on the floor and helping close the loop with customers.
• Open/close daily store operations, cash handling, and floor coverage.
• Keep the store organized, customer ready, and running smoothly.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, and SOPs to protect customers, teammates, and product.
• Own store execution by addressing issues and maintaining high standards.
• Leverage retail technology to enhance the customer experience and support staff.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when scheduled; assist hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Coach teammates in real time and help close performance gaps.
• Jump in wherever needed to support store priorities.
