Job summary

Famous Footwear is seeking an Assistant Store Manager who will drive the best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement. You will act as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager, motivate a team to hit sales targets, and uphold the Famous Feeling across the store.

Qualifications

• Has a High School Diploma/GED.
• Has at least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
• Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
• Displays ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager, as needed.
• Demonstrates strong cognitive skills, including problem solving analysis, decision making, and financial and quantitative analysis.
• Has advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Can work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Has basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates to build customer relationships and operational excellence.
• Recruit and hire exceptional external talent with Store Manager collaboration.
• Maintain store operations: pricing, shipping processing, and inventory.
• Drive sales by applying insights to improve results.
• Lead by example to foster diversity and inclusion.
• Step in for the Store Manager when away and ensure policy compliance.
