Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily activities, organize merchandise, and maintain clean, well-stocked areas across the floor and stockroom.

The role involves supervising associates, ensuring safety, handling opening/closing procedures and processing key store communications, with a focus on a positive customer experience and efficient loss prevention measures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and daily activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner with questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged goods, payroll and scheduling activities.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow safety policies.
• Help supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
