Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Dayton, OH to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. This role helps organize merchandise flow from delivery to sales floor, trains associates, and ensures a safe, clean environment.

The candidate will assist in payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and adherence to company policies while upholding a high level of customer service and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (standing, walking, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers and address questions or concerns.
• Support merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow corporate directives and internal communications.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized store areas.
• Protect store assets and cash.
• Enforce policies and safety guidelines; train and develop store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe environment and professional customer interactions.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and waste management.
• Other duties as assigned.
