Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help oversee day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards are met.

You will work closely with the Store Manager to supervise, train, and develop Store Associates, maintaining a positive and safe environment for customers and staff. This role requires strong communication and a customer-first mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and required to read operational directives.
• Retail store management experience preferred in grocery or drug environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey info requests and related communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow them.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash removal, and general neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
