Job summary

Family Dollar in Arcadia, FL seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. The role includes assisting with daily store activities, organizing merchandise, and maintaining clean, inviting spaces for customers and staff.

Open and close procedures, payroll/scheduling, and loss prevention are part of the duties. You’ll help train associates, uphold safety policies, and ensure a positive, productive environment throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, etc.).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Able to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store activity communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, trash, and presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
