Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, guest services, and team development at our Florida location.

You will help manage merchandise flow, train associates, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment while upholding company policies and standards.

Previous retail leadership is preferred; you must be capable of lifting, standing, and performing opening/closing duties with a proactive and friendly approach to customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked store floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and stocked, including bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
