Job summary

The Salvation Army in Kentwood, MI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, staff supervision, and customer service. The role offers full-time hours, benefits after 90 days, and a pay rate of $19.39 per hour.

You will assist the Store Manager with production, sales goals, banking, and records, while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance. Training is provided, with on-the-job coaching and opportunities to grow in retail leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of retail experience (thrift experience a plus).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer proficiency including POS systems.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in staff supervision, production, sales and store maintenance.
• Support customer development and banking/record-keeping procedures.
• Ensure safety, security, cleanliness and budget adherence; manage resources to prevent shrinkage.
• Provide training and coaching to store staff; maintain OSHA and safety compliance.
• Communicate with Store Manager about all aspects of store operations.
