Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in New Ellenton, SC to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, open/close procedures, loss prevention, and payroll-related tasks while ensuring a clean, welcoming shopping environment.

The ideal candidate has retail or store-management experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept and mopped, trash removed, and areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
