Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in Centerville, IA. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, staff coaching, and ensuring store standards are met daily.

Responsibilities include merchandise organization, opening/closing procedures, and enforcing company policies while delivering excellent guest experiences in a fast-paced environment. Part-time hours and weekend coverage may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; able to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform multi-directional store duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
