Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop the team in West Des Moines, IA. You will assist with daily functions, organize merchandise, and oversee opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth, safe and friendly shopping experiences.

The role requires strong communication and leadership, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking/standing required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines.
