Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development in Johnston, IA. This part-time role supports the Store Manager and ensures merchandise is properly displayed and stock is replenished.

You will assist with opening and closing procedures, supervise associates, and uphold company policies while delivering a positive, safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail/store management experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions and concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise between delivery, stockroom, and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies.
• Help store manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
• Ensure positive, safe environment and professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
