Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. The role involves opening/closing procedures, merchandise handling, and safeguarding assets.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, supervise and train staff, and ensure a clean, organized store that meets company standards. This part-time position emphasizes strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise between delivery, stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged items, and keep records.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates with the Store Manager.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions.
