Job summary

Family Dollar in Steelton, PA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, deliver customer service, and develop a talented team.

You will assist with merchandising, payroll and scheduling, open/close procedures, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming store atmosphere for customers and associates. Strong communication and reliability are essential, with prior store management preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform walking, standing, and other physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional front-end fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, trash emptied, and areas neat.
