Job summary

Family Dollar in Michigan is seeking a part-time Store Associate to support daily store operations and assist customers with a friendly, helpful attitude. You will help organize merchandise, stock shelves, and follow directives to ensure safety and compliance while maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, assisting with payroll and scheduling tasks, and supporting the Store Manager in coaching teammates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies including safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
