Job summary

Dollar Tree in Springfield, MO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop the store team.

You will assist with merchandise flow, inventory, scheduling, and adherence to company policies while maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment.

Candidates should have retail leadership experience and strong communication, with a focus on teamwork and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and answer questions.
• Organize merchandise and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and related store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handle damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to policies and safety guidelines.
