Job summary

Family Dollar in Beattyville, Kentucky is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise flow, scheduling, and loss prevention while ensuring a safe, friendly environment for customers and associates.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a high-energy team setting and handle physical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent movement
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner
• Organize merchandise and manage stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process directives and maintain store displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures
• Support Store Manager in training and developing associates
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
