Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits and paperwork while protecting assets and maximizing profits.

You will lead cash handling, scheduling, training, and safety procedures, and step in for the Store Manager when needed, ensuring smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking and displays.
• Assist inventory control and reduce damages and losses; prepare deposits as needed.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise presentation per standards.
• Support financial integrity with cashier accountability and cash handling procedures.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
