Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and handle deposits and paperwork to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

You will also assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, inventory control, and ensuring adherence to policies while maintaining security of cash and assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cash control practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training; conduct safety meetings and ensure policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, restocking, and rotating displays; implement planograms.
