Job summary

Family Dollar in Williamston, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. This part-time role focuses on helping with opening/closing, inventory, merchandising, and loss prevention to maintain store standards.

You will train and supervise Store Associates, ensure a positive shopping environment, handle customer inquiries, and uphold company policies while promoting safety and efficiency across the sales floor and stockroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred/required
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide excellent customer service

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling and loss prevention
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure store cleanliness, restrooms, floors, and waste removal
• Perform any other duties as assigned*
